Once is a series born from the shifting states of mind I’ve experienced, feelings that linger, and memories I hold close. Each chapter tells its own story, exploring emotion, identity, and vulnerability without following a chronological sequence. Together, the chapters form a complete set, a rhythm of moments connected by reflection and feeling rather than time.
One of the chapters, Loved the Same, is inspired by my favorite book and characters, Jude Saint Francis and Willem Ragnarsson from A Little Life. It is created in commemoration of a memory I will never let go, an homage to a story that shaped me deeply.
Each chapter is paired with a short, original poem, adding another layer of intimacy and narrative. The poems give voice to the emotions that shape the visuals, allowing the viewer to experience the feeling of each chapter in both word and image.
The series is not just about what is visible, but what is felt in the spaces between. Every composition, colour choice, and empty area is intentional, designed to hold emotion and invite reflection. Once becomes more than art, it is a space for recognition, a quiet place to encounter feelings often left unspoken.
Through Once, I explore the fragile and complex layers of human experience. The work is deeply personal yet open, offering a moment for the viewer to connect with their own memories, longings, and inner truths.
